Notes for In-person Worship

Our guiding principle as we worship post-pandemic is simply this: Love your neighbor. When asked by a religious leader what the greatest commandment is, Jesus says, "Love God and love your neighbor." And, in John's gospel, when Jesus commands us to "love one another", it is not a commandment about how to feel, but rather how to act. So, as followers of Jesus, loving our neighbor is what we are called to do. This means:

  • Masks are optional: Worshipers are presently invited to be masked or unmasked, as each feels comfortable.

  • If you aren’t feeling well, please attend via Zoom. The newer strains, though less volatile, spread so very easily!

  • There is hand sanitizer in each pew. Please note that epidemiologists have concluded that the virus does not spread on surfaces, but rather in the air. However, our practice of having hand sanitizer available pre-dates the pandemic by several years. :-)

  • We respect the wishes of those who prefer not to shake hands.

Notes for Online Worship

  • You can access the worship meeting using a computer, or using your smartphone—you’ll need the Zoom app, available for Windows, Mac, iPhone, and Android.

  • Perhaps you don’t have a camera or microphone attached to your computer; that’s okay, you can still see and hear the worship service (you may need to click a button that says something like “Join using computer audio”), but others will not be able to see or hear you. If you do not have a camera or microphone, you can interact using the chat function (ie., via your keyboard) instead.
